Cloud Schmoud

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison mocks “cloud computing” and rightly so:

In my control panel for trivisonno.com, there is a link for cloud computing. When I clicked on it, it took me to a set-up screen for virtual machines. OK, I suppose you can call a virtual machine a cloud if you want, but virtual machines are nothing new. I saw my first VM over 20 years ago. It ran Windows on the Macintosh – very, very slowly.

    2thfixr,

Yes, the drive is a 10gb antique. The machine is an E-Machine. Works well. XP runs very well on it, faster than ME.

I’ll see what I can do with the drive. I think I’ll run Norton on it and then reformat if needed.

It is very kind of you to offer help. I can always use parts. I certainly wouldn’t want to inconvienience you though. And if I do get your drive, I wil pay for the unit plus shipping cost.

    I’ll let you know.

    Thanks

    George,
I had a 250GB i was going to offer but I might upgrade one of my computers and if I still have 80GB i will let you know.

As long as you pay for shipping that’s fine.

I’m throwing an external USB CD Burner out tomorrow because I have decided to have a less crowded environment..
